About Sasha

Sasha

Our lead instructor Sasha Ufnowska has been teaching for us since 2009. She is a qualified Bushcraft Practitioner and Forest Schools leader. Since starting out as a conservation volunteer leader and a life time of playing in the woods her skills range from woodlore and woodland survival, wild food and beach foraging to green woodwork and willow weaving, she is also a chainsaw carver and has completed many commissions in and around the Bridgend area.

Sasha has an enhanced DBS Check, is a member of The Institute of Outdoor Learning and a Trustee for Forest School Wales.

Steph Thompson

Steph is a qualified Forest School Leader and Bushcraft Instructor, based in south Wales.

She has numerous years’ experience working in conservation, before setting up her own business, Bushcraft Adventures and sharing our site at Merthyr Mawr

Steph has extensive experience working with schools and community groups, as well as running private bookings including family activities. She is fully DBS-checked.

Steph can often be found playing – or should it be, working – in the woods or with her foraging bag, usually filling it with interesting materials to use as natural tinder. With a passion for the great outdoors.
